Japanese Flip is a learning tool similar to flashcards, but with an intelligent progress tracking system that helps you learn faster. After you "flip" to the answer, you pick if you were Right or Wrong.

The program remembers which Japanese words you have trouble with, and which you have learned well. It focuses on the problematic items, while using longer spans of time between repetitions of learned material.

Brilliant

:
Wow, this is perfect! It knows exactly when to retest a card to check if you've really learned it, the correct speed to introduce new words or words you have trouble with to avoid frustration, and all with a sleek, attractive presentation. It's rewarding to see how you're progressing as the cards move into the "older" and "ancient" category. This ap has become my new addiction, and it's nice to be able to get some (enjoyable) study in wherever I am and whenever.. whether waiting in line, riding the metro, waiting on a friend, etc. I'm enjoying it so much I'm going to buy Kanji Flip as well.

Fantastic

:
Well worth the cost. If you're trying to learn to read Japanese, this is the way to go. The flashcard system works very well, introducing new words gradually and repeating difficult words until you get them right. Iterface is sleek and efficient. And unlike a textbook, it's actually fun to play because you really feel like you're making progress.

A way to more easily browse the word lists, or see meanings / pronunciation of individual kanji in words would be nice (for me, knowing the meaning of kanji really helps word recognition, and having to jump back and forth to my dictionary slows down the pacing). And an option to hide the progress chart to increase the text area. But as it stands it's a fantastic investment.

Edit: the new screen layout is fantastic! Keep up the good work!

Excellent Study Tool!

:
I'm in love with this application. It has really helped me improve my word retention!

The study algorithm is very effective, and it tests you just between the right intervals to maximimize memorization. I also like how the words are divided by the four JLPT levels, so it gives you a solid idea on what vocabulary to expect on the exams.

The feature that allows you to add your own words works very well, but instead of adding simple words, I've been adding full sentences to study. My goal is to learn 10,000 Japanese sentences by the end of next year, and this tool is making it possible!
